The ABB CI840A 3BSE041882R1 is a PROFIBUS DP-V1 fieldbus communication interface module for ABB S800 I/O system under 800xA DCS platform. It serves as the gateway connecting AC800M controller and distributed S800 I/O clusters. It supports baud rate up to 12 Mbps, HART pass-through and hot configuration in run. It supports module redundancy and hot swap, widely applied in power, chemical, pulp & paper and oil & gas industrial process control.

Content Details

CI840A adopts DIN rail mounting and works with TU846/TU847 termination units. It realizes cyclic real-time data transmission and acyclic parameter access between controller and S800 I/O modules via PROFIBUS DP-V1 bus. It monitors ModuleBus status and provides supervision for local I/O station. LED indicators display bus communication and module operating status for fast on-site fault diagnosis. It allows adding or modifying I/O modules without stopping the whole system. Industrial PCB design provides strong anti-interference capability for harsh industrial cabinet environments. It is used as spare replacement part for S800 I/O maintenance and system retrofit. Every module passes full function test and thermal aging test before shipment.
