The ABB CI522A 3BSE018283R1 is an AF100 communication interface module for ABB AC800M controller and 800xA DCS system. It provides dual redundant RS485 channels to connect AC800M controller with S800 remote I/O stations over AF100 fieldbus. Galvanic isolation on bus ports improves noise immunity. It supports hot swap and built-in communication diagnostics, widely applied in power, chemical and pulp & paper industrial distributed control systems.

Content Details

CI522A works as the communication gateway between AC800M controller and S800 I/O via AF100 bus. Redundant dual channels ensure continuous operation when one communication path fails. The module gets power from controller backplane without extra external power supply. Onboard hardware diagnostics monitor bus status, signal quality and module health, and send fault alarms to DCS. Standard rack plug-in design supports hot swapping for convenient maintenance and replacement without shutting down the whole system. Rugged industrial circuit design, operating temperature 0~60℃, can run stably under vibration and high EMI industrial environments. CI522A 3BSE018283R1 is used for spare replacement and system retrofit of ABB 800xA DCS. Before shipment, each unit undergoes full functional test and thermal aging inspection to eliminate hidden defects and guarantee reliable long-term continuous operation.
